Season 3 sucked too.
Yeper. It sucks.. but so did most of season 3. As soon as they escaped new caprica everything went potty. 4th season is just continuing the writer's self-indulgent nonsense.
Especially that episode when Gada is singing... yuck. It was so cheesy I had to look away from the screen.
Anyway, we can always be thankful for the first two seasons though. That was some of the best scifi television ever made.
this season is too fast
honestly, these past ten episodes could have been expanded into a full season, the show is going WAY too fast; they could have developed so much with the content. i'm not mad on how this last episode ended, but i'm really not liking this season as a whole.

Boy does BSG season 4 SUCK --------
We don´t get to watch it here in Europe so I had to purchase season 1-3 + the mini series, and I loved it.
BUT season 4 come on give me a freaking break - whats up with this, I hate it....
Season 4 Is Slow!
Finally! Thus far this is the only website I've found where I find people who actually agree with me. Everywhere I turn critics and fans defend the aimlessness and lack of focus that is Season 4 of Battlestar Galactica. With the exception of a few great moments, the main story arc has no nowhere fast. I view seasons 1-3 as some of the finest television ever, however this almost feels like a different show. Did the show lose it's original writers? Is all of this filler intentional? Did network executives step in at some point and demand that the show slow down so that its not so serialized?
I don't know that we'll ever know what's going on behind the scenese but it's hard to imagine that the creative forces behind the series don't know that this season stinks, nor do I believe that they would allow it to do so. The majority of BSG fans I speak to on a regular basis always throw the "oh you're being impatient" and "this is buildup, just wait" excuses at me. Excuse me but the time for build up has past. This is the final season of BSG and with so many loose ends to tie up, we should be getting answers and seeing at least 4 of the final 5 revealed. From here we should be witness to the dramtatic fallout from these revelations. I thought the revelations should have started somewhere around week 3 or 4, but this season seems like one big filler episode and gives me the impression the main story arc has taken on a lesser role.
I love serialized shows like BSG for their drama and long complicated story lines. I also love WTF moments and cliffhangers that make you think all week long. Sadly those are missing as well this season.
I guess I just want to know if this is deliberate. If it is it's poor storytelling. There's nothing wrong with set up episodes but even those have lost their impact this season. I think there is nothing wrong with the show being dark, depressing, and lacking in Hollywood feel good garbage but this season looks like its aiming not just to end in a dark place but no place at all with no resolution. I hope we don't get "Soprano'd" by BSG's finale. Just my 2 cents.....

They seem to have gone off the rails. The episodes are not engaging, they are like having a nap disturbed. I expect surprises, but I think they are REALLY reaching to fit some of this stuff in. The story is crawling along. Should have a mini-season at the end?
Somebody at Sci-fi grab the writers and editors and producers and make them watch Season one over and over until they get it right.

Wow... There is absolutely NOTHING redeeming about season 4. It's almost as if the writers are trying to poison the series. Seasons 1 2 & 3 all had episodes that were just amazing. This season is like watching C-Span only based in space.
season 4 sucks
i completely agree that this season sucks. i was looking for others who felt the same way i did and it turns out im not alone. i have the latest episode downloaded since 3 days ago and still haven't watched it because it just doesn't entertain me anymore. the only reason i do watch is because i want a conclusion. Season 1 was phenominal, season 2 had really good subplots. Season 3 it started to go downhill with too many 'filler' episodes in my opinion that were just a way of meeting contract requirements of so-and-so many episodes per season, bla bla bla. besides a few good ones, season 3 was only 'ok' in my book. now we have season 4, and for the life of me it feels like the whole season so far has taken place in only of about 10 backdrops total. did the rest burn up in some hollywood fire? are all the props burnt to a crisp so now we have to be stuck in the same 10 places? also it feels like the cast has shrunk dramatically. i think the budget for this last season dropped a whole lot and now we're seeing the results. good thing this is the last season, i hope it ends on a good note.

Aye its just pish even the acting has gone downhill its like they've all gone to overacting school and qualified with distinction. Feel like I wasting 45 minutes of my life by watching it.

I'm up to episode 5 in Season 4 of Battlestar Galactica, and it's boring as fuck. The story isn't moving at all. Nothing is happening. We are being shovelled episode after episode of time-wasting dialogue. They keep on introducing shitty new subplots without resolving/furthering earlier ones.
I fucking hate what's become of this once-great show. The only reason I keep watching is because I want a conclusion so I can finally quit forever.
I don't give a flying fuck about most of the shit that goes on in the show this season. They're just not putting any effort into the episodes anymore.
